Systech to target wireless charging applications for the Chinese market and beyond
BOSTON & TAIPEI, China — WiTricity, the industry pioneer in wireless power transfer over distance, today announced that Hong Kong-based Systech Electronics, Ltd., an innovator in product design and manufacturing, has licensed WiTricity’s magnetic resonance technology for use in wireless charging systems developed by Systech for the consumer electronics market. Primarily addressing the Greater China market, Systech will offer design and manufacturing services for OEMs looking to integrate wireless charging based on WiTricity’s intellectual property into its products and systems for shipment worldwide.
Systech’s comprehensive services – from concept development to design and prototyping, all the way to product manufacturing – will allow Systech to work with OEMs to integrate WiTricity wireless charging technology into their consumer electronics products, ranging from smartphones to tablets to laptops. Under the licensing agreement, Systech will have access to a number of WiTricity reference designs, as well as extensive training, expertise and support from WiTricity, which will accelerate the development and release of innovative designs that incorporate wireless charging.
“Wireless charging is the next big innovation for consumer electronics devices and will drive new product adoption for some very competitive product spaces, including laptops, smartphones and tablets,” said Patrick Lee, CEO of Systech. “Our customers are always looking for ways to differentiate their product offerings and stand out in a crowded marketplace, and working with WiTricity will allow us to accelerate time to market and deliver best-in-class wireless charging solutions.”
“The Chinese consumer electronics industry is expanding rapidly, offering world-class products across the spectrum of consumer devices,” said Stephen Tsao, WiTricity managing director, Greater China. “Systech offers innovative product design, development and manufacturing capabilities that map extremely well with our philosophy of delivering cutting-edge wireless charging solutions based on proven system designs and extensive experience. We look forward to working with Systech on realizing a wireless future.”
Systech, in cooperation with sister company ASD, is exhibiting at the COMPUTEX Taipei show running from May 31st until June 4th in the Taipei World Trade Center. Located in ASD stand M1234 in the Nangang Exhibition Hall 1, Systech will demonstrate wireless charging systems based on WiTricity technology in their booth.
