Company’s DRIVE 11 system also named winner of the 2017 New Equipment Digest Innovation Awards, a co-hosted event
Watertown, Mass. – May 9, 2017 – Vice President of Product Management at WiTricity, the industry pioneer in wireless power transfer over distance, Sanjay Gupta, will be hosting a workshop today at the Industrial Design & Engineering Show, which is co-located with the IndustryWeek Manufacturing & Technology Conference & Expo (M&T Expo) in Cleveland, Ohio. Last night at the M&T Expo, Gupta also accepted the 2017 New Equipment Digest Innovation Award (NED Innovation Award) on behalf of WiTricity for its Drive 11 system.
About event: The Industrial Design & Engineering Show connects all aspects of the engineering community, from design engineers to plant managers, to learn and exchange application methods for the latest emerging technologies, from the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence to wireless power. Gupta’s interactive session today will explore how engineers can embed magnetic resonance-based wireless power into the next-generation products they are creating for a range of applications, like wearables and electronic vehicles. The two hour session will also incorporate live demonstrations of wireless power at work, including the Dell Latitude 7285, the industry’s first 2-in-1 laptop enabling a workplace free of wires.
When and where: Gupta’s session, How to Embed Wireless Charging Into Next-Gen Products, takes place today from 2-4 p.m. ET in room 11, and is open to registered attendees.
About award: The NED Innovation Award ceremony, hosted at the M&T Expo last night, celebrated the year’s most disruptive innovations in industrial technology. NED staff and advisors sort through thousands of new products each year to identify and nominate the most innovative tools that harness new capabilities and levels of efficiency for manufacturers. Voted on by NED’s readers, WiTricity’s Drive 11 system, an end-to-end reference design for “Park-and-Charge” wireless charging of electric and hybrid vehicles and capable of delivering 11kW of power at efficiencies up to 94%, was awarded an Innovation Award.
