WiTricity Welcomes General Motors Veteran Stephen Girsky as Company Advisor

Watertown, Mass. – Jan. 16, 2017WiTricity, the industry pioneer in wireless power transfer over distance, today announced Stephen Girsky will serve as a formal advisor to the company effective immediately. Girsky is a veteran in the automotive sector and will bring his extensive expertise to WiTricity as the company continues to expand its footprint in the electric (EV) and autonomous vehicle (AV) space.

WiTricity’s wireless charging systems are catalyzing EV adoption through flexible park-and-charge experiences. Having just announced a collaboration with General Motors to test WiTricity’s high-power EV wireless charging system, and counting Toyota as a licensee and investor, the company is emerging as a key player in the automotive sector, especially as it relates to an autonomous, all-electric future.

A long time auto analyst at Morgan Stanley, Girsky was part of General Motors (GM) post-bankruptcy rebuild, taking on a number of operational roles as well as serving on the company’s Board of Directors.  Girsky is currently Managing Partner of VectoIQ, a firm that manages large and small technology companies in the field of smart transportation. His unique background will help WiTricity shape go-to-market strategy.
