Wireless charging technology recognized for its innovations in the electric, autonomous vehicle space
Watertown, Mass., U.S.A. – December 4, 2018 – WiTricity, the industry pioneer in wireless power transfer over distance, today was named a winner of the inaugural Autonomous Vehicle Technology (AVT) ACES Awardsin electrification and charging. Recipients of the award were recognized for developing the most innovative technologies in the autonomy, connectivity, electrification and mobility spaces. WiTricity was honored for its work in accelerating the future of transportation that will be electrified, shared and autonomous.
Enabling vehicles of any type or size to charge wirelessly, WiTricity’s DRIVE 11 technology was recognized by the AVT ACES editors as a key piece to the automotive revolution for both electric vehicles (EVs) and autonomous vehicles (AVs). WiTricity has developed technology to support that future by enabling a transparent and efficient wireless charging method for the next generation of vehicles. WiTricity’s commitment to automotive innovation is marked by the effort to ratify a global EV wireless charging standard with the Society of Automotive Engineers and announcements from multiple automakers of collaboration on wireless charging roadmap technology into their electric cars.
“As automakers bring self-driving cars to market, WiTricity is ready to deliver the wireless technology that will enable these vehicles to seamlessly charge themselves without plugging in – perhaps even ‘power snack’ along their service routes,” said Alex Gruzen, CEO of WiTricity. “We are committed to bringing a technology to the autonomous industry that allows charging to without cables. Being honored for wireless charging by the AVT ACES coordinators is another recognition of our progress in ensuring a seamless transition to the future of mobility.”
By charging wirelessly, an autonomous future is possible. More details about the AVT ACES Awards can be found here. For further information on WiTricity or to set up a press meeting onsite, email WiTricity@v2comms.com.
