Stephen Tsao will speak on automotive wireless charging standards and their role in widespread electrification
Watertown, Mass. – June 25, 2018 – WiTricity, the industry pioneer in wireless power transfer over distance, today announced that Stephen Tsao, Managing Director of the organization’s Chinese market, will speak at the Taiwan Association of Information and Communication Standards (TAICS) Annual Forum 2018 on the importance of automotive wireless charging standards and the role they will play in global electrification on Tuesday, June 26, 2018.
With the global automotive industry trending toward electrification, having easy, convenient ways to power electric vehicles will be key to driving widespread adoption. Wireless charging technology is critical to this development but having standards in place to ensure safety and interoperability of systems will be imperative.
Currently, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) are leading in standards development, but with the massive business opportunity that this shift provides, how will the Taiwanese automotive industry ensure it is able to keep up? In his presentation, “The EV Battery Management and Related Services Development Trend,” Tsao will discuss the current state of global standards and share predictions for the future of the industry, including discussion of how the Taiwanese automotive and technology communities can make use of its strength in hardware and software development to become a leader in the space.
