How it works

Wireless charging an autonomous vehicle (AV) is simple and seamless. An AV equipped with a small wireless charging receiver (or vehicle assembly) on its undercarriage parks over a charging pad (ground assembly), which is flush with the pavement.
Power is then sent to the ground assembly pad, which flows through its coil, generating a magnetic field that oscillates at the resonant frequency of both pads. This induces power in the receiver coil on the vehicle assembly, which is then converted to DC and sent to the battery.
